  What You Can Do?

🧠 This involves offering calm, compassionate support to someone who may be experiencing a break from reality—such as hallucinations, delusions, or disorganized thinking. Here’s how you can help safely and effectively:

Stay calm and nonjudgmental: Your tone and body language matter. Speak slowly and clearly.

  • Don’t argue with delusions or hallucinations: Acknowledge their feelings without validating false beliefs. Try: “That sounds really frightening. I’m here with you.”

  •  Ensure safety: If the person is at risk of harming themselves or others, call emergency services immediately.

  •  Encourage professional help: Gently suggest seeing a doctor or mental health professional. Offer to help them make the call or go with them.

  •  Avoid confrontation: Don’t try to force them to do anything. Focus on building trust and offering support.

🧭 In a Crisis

If the person is in immediate danger or severely disoriented:

  • Call emergency services (This depends with the country you live)

  •  Stay with them until help arrives, if it’s safe to do so

  • Remove any potential hazards from the environment.

You don’t need to be a mental health expert to make a difference—just someone who listens, stays calm, and knows when to call in the pros. Would you like tips on how to talk to someone who’s reluctant to get help?
